High Sign Films Hello

About Us

At High Sign Film, we believe filmmaking should be straightforward and collaborative.

The “high sign” is a discreet signal between partners that says the time is now. We’re good to go. Let’s make a move.

High Sign Film aims to give you the confidence to move forward on your project.

Whether you’re making a documentary, a narrative feature, a short film, or branded content, we simplify the process so that you can focus on bringing your story to life.

Big or small, every project gets the same promise: the High Sign Film experience will be cooperative, transparent, and a little fun.

…the time is now…

Our Story

High Sign Film was founded by Graham High, a former Executive Producer at Altimeter Films, where he produced award-nominated documentaries and series for leading platforms including HBO Max/CNN, Hulu, Showtime, Apple TV, and Sony Pictures Classics.

Over the past decade, Graham has also developed a slate of his own working as director and producer, featuring his work across the U.S. and around the world.

Along the way, he has cultivated a trusted network of top-tier talent that High Sign Film draws upon to match each project with the right creative team.

As the son of a deaf man, Graham learned early on the power of visual storytelling. The name High Sign is a nod to ASL and reflects the company’s belief in communication that is clear, inclusive, and human.

That belief extends to the kinds of stories we tell and the people we tell them with. High Sign Film values voices that aren’t always centered in the film and television industry, and we see diversity of perspective as essential to authentic, memorable storytelling.

FAQs

  • We work across documentaries, narrative projects, branded content, and short films. Whether it’s a feature or a campaign video, we bring the same level of care and craft to every project.

  • We can do both. Some clients come to us at the idea stage, and we help with development, decks, and sizzles. Others bring us in for production, post, or archival. Our goal is to meet you where you are and clear the path forward.

  • At this time, High Sign Film does not fundraise, secure financing, or negotiate distribution.

  • While we are based in LA, our network spans the country in major hubs across the US: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Austin, New Orleans, and the Bay Area. We also work abroad in conjunction with local producing teams.

If your project takes us somewhere new, we’ll help staff a trusted crew there too.

  • Every project is different, but generally: development (a few weeks), production (a few days to a few months, depending on scope), and post-production (several months). We’ll give you a realistic timeline up front so you know what to expect.

  • Yes. We’ve produced everything from lean festival shorts to high-budget feature docs. We’ll scale a team that fits your goals and budget, without compromising quality.

However, we generally do not work with budgets less than $10k. If you think your project warrants an exception, let us know.

  • The “high sign” is a discreet signal between partners, a gesture that it’s time to take action. That’s what we want to give our clients: the confidence to move forward with clarity, collaboration, and creativity.

It’s also a reference to Graham’s early years communicating in ASL with his deaf father. For us, High Sign Film symbolizes the power of clear, visual storytelling and the belief that stories are strongest when more voices are included.
